To manufacture high-quality incense sticks, you require a mixture of binding agents, combustion agents, and structural bamboo cores. The ingredients are mixed with water, extruded onto the stick, dried, and then scented.

• Bamboo Sticks: Round, uniform sticks (usually 1.3mm to 3.0mm, imported from Vietnam or locally made).
• Jigat Powder: Natural bark powder (litsea glutinosa) acting as the primary adhesive binder.
• Charcoal Powder: Fine black charcoal powder acting as the burning combustion agent.
• Wood Dust / Kuppam Dust: Fine sawdust acting as a burning base and absorbing essential oils.

Pro Formulation Tips

A standard ratio for premium raw incense sticks is **70% Charcoal/Wood Powder** to **30% Jigat Powder**. Add water slowly during mixing in the Agarbatti Raw Material Mixer to get a malleable dough that doesn't jam the automatic extrusion nozzle.

Dhoopbatti is a stick-less compressed incense, available as soft wet dhoop or rigid dry dhoop. Formulations include traditional aromatic binders, oils, and resins that burn slowly.

• Jigat / Guar Gum: Thick natural gums to bind the dry powder together without a bamboo core.
• Charcoal / Sandalwood powder: Acts as the clean-burning combustion base.
• Herbs & Resins (Loban / Guggul): Traditional crushed ingredients that produce rich, traditional smoke.
• Ghee, Honey & Essential Oils: Added to wet dhoop formulations to keep it soft, malleable, and fragrant.

Pro Formulation Tips

Wet dhoop requires a high-torque paddle mixer to blend sticky ghee and resins uniformly. Dry dhoop sticks must be dried slowly in a temperature-controlled dehumidifying dhoop dryer chamber to prevent surface cracking.

Puja cotton wicks (Gol and Lambi wicks) require highly combed, long-staple cotton to roll smoothly and absorb ghee/oil efficiently without disintegrating.

• Surgical Raw Cotton: Pure, carded, clean cotton rolls containing zero lumps.
• Natural Combed Cotton Sliver: continuous ropes of combed cotton fibers used in automatic long-wick machines for continuous feed.
• Starch / Liquid Binder: Diluted rice starch, milk, or water-soluble binding agent applied to friction rollers to set the twisted wick tips.

Pro Formulation Tips

Always use combed cotton slivers for continuous long-wick machines to prevent feeding gaps. For round wicks (Gol Batti), ensure a light starch spray on the twisting plates to keep the pointed tip firm.

Camphor tablet compression requires pure, refined camphor raw material. Camphor compresses directly without binders, but the powder moisture must be monitored.

• Pure Camphor Powder: Refined synthetic camphor powder (usually derived from alpha-pinene/turpentine).
• Camphor Flakes: Raw crystallized flakes crushed down before entering the feed hopper.
• Zero Additives / Binders: Camphor powder has natural self-binding properties under high compaction force (no additives needed!).

Pro Formulation Tips

Camphor powder is highly volatile. Store raw powder in airtight drums and keep the tablet machine hopper covered. High compaction pressure in rotary presses yields solid, shiny tablets that don't crumble.

Sambrani cups consist of a hollow, slow-burning carbon shell filled with raw natural resins. The cup is lit, burning down slowly and diffusing the fragrance.

• Charcoal & Jigat Powder: Used to form the hollow outer cup container.
• Loban (Benzoin resin): The primary dry resin crystals filled inside the cup.
• Guggul / Frankincense: Aromatic resins blended with the loban for rich smoke.

Ensure the hollow cup shell is fully dried before filling with resin crystals. Use polished brass molds in automatic or manual sambrani cup presses to achieve smooth, crack-free cup finishes.
